Hardwoods are in!!

I was so surprised to see hardwoods today!! I really wish I could have peeled back more of the paper and got a better shot of the hardwoods though, but they unturned out stunning!! I'm so glad we got them on the entire main floor I think it will really make the space look bigger and more elegant. I also love my master bathroom tile together!! I'm glad they didn't use bright white grout too I forgot to request a beige grout but they must have read my mind! PM said carpet should be done this week and the guys were working on the brick when I was there today. The doors are also painted and drying and the window is being fixed finally this week in the basement. I can't believe it will be our in 3 weeks!!!!!

Closing date set!

I'm so excited that we scheduled our closing!  June 3rd @ 10am!!!  I'm so excited, I don't think I will be able to sleep the night before, it reminds me of how excited I was as a little girl the night before our family would go to Kennywood (I was more excited for Kennywood than for Christmas!)

I finally got to update my countdown too :)  It's so crazy to think that in less than a month, we will have a whole new house, new neighbors, friends, a place to call home... to raise a family in, and to spend my life with my loving husband!  I'm so over joyed and I feel so blessed to be able to do this at this point in our lives.

Oh, and I was locked out of the house last night!  I really wanted to see the tile work too!  I'm going to go after work today and ask my SR to let me in :)  I don't know if we are officially locked out or if the door just accidentally got locked! But I'm super excited to get the pics up of the master bathroom, I really hope my selection I made look good!  Hopefully I will have pics up this evening... stay tuned!

pop lock and drop it...

So I finally got the go ahead to lock in for a 30 day today, which means we are DEFINITELY closing on or before June 5th!  So nice to have a real date :)  I called NVR settlement too to schedule our closing, I had to leave a message but I'm hoping to close on Monday June 1st, that way we have a whole week to move in and clean the old apt, we are keeping the lease until June 9th now.

I'm still going to get a new GFE with the rate and the closing credit, it has been the same rate and closing credit for the past few weeks every time I inquired about it, so I honestly don't think it's going to get any better through NVR, and even the nation average was at 3.35 BUT that is if you have 20% down on a conventional, so I think that our rate is competitive, we locked at 3.5% 30 yr fixed with 10% down and buying our MI out upfront.  We got a credit back of .375% too, which is nice so it will be a little over 1k less to bring to the table.  All things considered, I think we are getting a good rate and so far I am pleased.

Cabinets, trim and doors... Oh my!

I was off yesterday from work for a dr appointment for my knee (I included a pic of my adorable brace I get to wear for the next 3 weeks) nothing major just strained my it band and patella connective ligament... Whatever that means!

Anyways... I went up to the house and to my surprise... Progress! First I saw the brick and was happy then I saw our home was all trimmed out, doors on, and cabinets! I finally got to see my espresso cabinets in person! I also met our new PM and he calmed my worries and promised everything will be ok and to not micro manage the project, they are the pros here! We also got out final walk through date, may 31st! We will be closing the first week of June so only a little but behind, not bad!

Oh and the leak is fixed! So that's a load off my mid, the widow will get finished and inspected by engineers this upcoming week too.

Paint and ... That's about it

Well stopped by last night again, I really want to keep up on the progress with the window so I don't miss anything. We still are having water leak in the basement the insulation board is wet I want it replaced so mold doesn't grow... And I saw that we are painted. I hope they plan to do another coat because it was kind of sloppy in a lot of spots... But I hear that is the norm. It looks so much smaller now with the walls and ceilings all done I got scared maybe this house isn't be enough! But then again, it was the budget that we felt comfortable with and the bigger the house the more to clean! I think once the floors are done and al the finishing touches are done it will look bigger again, I remember walking though the model thinking it was too much space!

Delayed :(

I spoke to our new PM last night, it is a different one than what my old PM told me, but oh well.  I told him how I was really concerned about the window... still... I went there to see the progress last night and they have the frame up for the new window but it's much smaller and I also saw my main water shut-off valve was leaking all over the floor... he was aware of that though and said it was going to be fixed.  I just broke down and cried on my way home because I'm just so frustrated with everything, with not having a closing date, with the window, with the fact my neighbor who started construction a month after me is further ahead and I'm just not happy with the whole egress window situation, I feel really uncomfortable about it, and the hole in my french drain.... he said not to worry and to let him do all the worrying but it's just hard, I said "put yourself in my shoes, wouldn't you be freaking out?" he admitted he would feel the same way, but it still doesn't make it better.  Not getting what we paid for and what was promised just makes me feel like shit right now, and I have no clue when we will be moving, so this Friday our new PM promised us our closing date, it's going to be later than May 24th, which was originally expected, it will be either the 1st or 2nd week in June.  So, I will have to go back to our landlord and extend our lease.

I would have pictures of everything but I was honestly just too upset to even bother, I just wanted to get out of there last night and forget about it.... maybe I'm blowing things out of proportion but it's how I feel, and I really need RH to make things right.

Oh, hello there hole in my french drain.....

We went to see the progress (lack of progress) on the house this Saturday, and we also talked with our neighbor for a bit, he is a great guy and very helpful, he had a backhoe out and was picking up the giant bricks, boulders and rocks and sticks in his years before they put topsoil down and offered to help us too!  

We were walking around the side of the house and looking at the new hole for the egress window (I cringe thinking they cut into our foundation like that, I'm so worried about the structural integrity of the house now!) and we saw there is a big hole in our french drain now, probably from excavating again.  So I email our new PM with a picture, we want to see the repair before they back fill too, because who knows, if we didn't bring it up, it may not have got fixed.  I also asked our Realtor if we can get RH to have a structural engineer out there to inspect the foundation once the new window is in and the old is filled up before they back fill   I think it's a totally legit request since it was there screw up.

I'm not pissed, yet at least, just concerned, so far they have addressed all the issues we've brought up, I hope they continue to do so too.

Yeah, this hole won't fly, I'm also pretty sure there is a ton of dirt now in the drain pipe, that will also need to be removed so it doesn't get clogged up.
