We have a Hole!!!

So we got a nice surprise today at our pre construction meeting.... We have a HOLE!!!! A pretty darn big one too! And our footers are going to be poured on Monday!! "Shut the front door!" I know, right? So it was more of a post breaking ground meeting! Anyways I'm so excited if it was so muddy out I would have danced around in that hole and made my husband take a video of me doing the douggie or some kind of dance down there! Thank goodness for him and the rest of the world it was muddy because I am an embarrassing dancer! I still can't believe all of the happened without our loan approval! I'm still nervous about that! But hopefully come Tuesday when we get our taxes done my fears will subside. I also stoked that we are getting beaded siding and 3 dimensional shingles! The siding is sooooo much nicer than the traditional kind they have been using and the first phase didn't get it and I guess those homeowners are kind of jealous! I know my parents are, they build over a year ago and wished they had the options we are getting! Anyways.... Here is a picture of my hole!! Oh gosh, that sounds so dirty!!! And technically it is dirty! Lol ok I'm going to stop at that! :)

Our first Delay

We haven't even had our pre-construction meeting yet and I've already hit one delay!  But it's ok, it's flu season and our pre-construction meeting was moved from Monday to Today.  Our PM was sick and I totally understand because I had the flu last week!  It's rough so I just hope he is feeling better because I'm going to really test his patience I'm sure for the next 90 days :)  I'm so excited for our meeting today at 3:30 I'm jumping out of my skin at work right now, I just had to blog to let it off a little of my energy I think!  I will post my thoughts on the meeting this weekend.  Happy Friday fellow bloggers and followers!!!

Also, I've been looking around for things for the house and I really really REALLY need new bedding, a duvet in particular.  My husband is allergic to our adorable kitty Mr. Tickles and I need to be able to wash the duvet every week and every duvet I've bought in the past just down't hold up, it's thin and cheap and I waste so much money on them!  So I decided to spluge and pick one up from Restoration Hardware (omg this place seriously gives me a design orgam when I walk in there) none of the sales people ever help me there though because I don't look rich enough I suppose so I will be ordering online and not giving my local store the business!  But anyways, enough of my rant, here's the bedding, it's very calming and nutral and SOFT!!  It's the Italian 50-Year-Wash Vintage bedding.  It's 20% off right now too!  I want to dress it up with accent pillows I can find at Home Goods or Marshalls TJ Maxx ect.

I also found this table at World Market's website (there isn't one near me but you better believe I will drive 1 1/2 hours to Canton OH to get this!) that I'm pretty obsessed with and want it for our morning room, it will expand so I can fit up to 12 people!  I have a huge family and tons of friends and I would love to have our games nights on this table or have Thanks Giving at our place this year!  Oh how I can't wait for the next 90 days to just fly by!!

Non-standard request... is it too late???

So I have been mulling my cabinet choice over in my head 1000 times since signing our sales agreement and I wanted to get some feedback from the community on this one.  So, I really REALLY REALLY love the look of white cabinets and dark HW floors, like, my pinterest account is overloaded with ideas that involve white cabinets and I really wasn't feeling the Rushmore Maple glazed (mainly b/c I am really a modern girl and the glaze was just too country for me) and then I go on the Timberlake website and see BEAUTIFUL white shaker style cabinets!!! Which is EXACTLY what I wanted!  So, I have my pre-construction meeting set for this Monday, and I was wondering if anyone knows if it's too late to change this and get a price on the cabinets I really want or am I shit out of luck and stuck with my dark maple espresso (which I like but I would LOVE my white shakers!)  Any advise before I call my SR and be a really pain in the ass???

ABOVE:  The white solid wood New Haven cabinet and BELOW is what they look like all put together, obviously not the right color but you get the idea!  I'm loving that hardware too!

Just an update

So we are still on the books for our pre-construction meeting on February 18th, even though we haven't got our approval from NVR.  They are waiting on our tax returns for this year, so I'm still waiting on my husband's business to file their taxes to get his K-1 but our LO assurred us that we have the green light to proceed with construction even though we aren't approved.  This makes me feel relieved that they have that much certainty that we will be approved to just go ahead and let us build.  I'm not really getting excited yet because again, I'm still nervous because we don't have a letter in hand that says we will be approved for the mortgage.

I think once we have our meeting I will get excited again :)  I'm starting to get really ansy here living in our rental, I am being more and more irritated living there because I know that it's only a matter of months before we will be in our dream home!  So I'm being kind of bitchy about stuff lately, which I'm feeling terrible about because I take it out on the hubby... like the fact we don't have a dishwasher, that my stove is so corcked if I bake a cake one side is an inch thicker, etc... but I know it's all for a good cause!  We moved into this place to save money so we could afford all the extras that we wanted in the new house.  I just have to keep telling myself, May 28th is right around the corner!  I'm already filling up my pinterest account with ideas for the new home, it's really overwhelming!  I have also been reading all the blogs and seeing all of the beautiful things that our fellow Ryan Homes bloggers are doing to personalize their spaces and it's making me just a tad bit jealous that I can't do it right now :)  All in good time though... I am also anxious to meet our PM, I really hope he is a good one!  I'm super picky and particular and I will probably be a pain in his butt but hey, we are dropping a serious amout of cash for this home and I have ever right to be demanding and get what I want!  LOL wow I sound like a bitch! I swear I'm not though!!!

I am really looking forward to getting down to the meat and potatoes of this whole process and hope to keep updating everyone with the good news!  And below, you will find a picture of the other member of our family that I forgot to introduce!  I know she will be really excited to get into the new home with all of the space to run around in :)

Meet Mr. Tickles, my baby, the love of my life (next to my husband that is!) and yes, she is a SHE!
