We have a Hole!!!

So we got a nice surprise today at our pre construction meeting.... We have a HOLE!!!! A pretty darn big one too! And our footers are going to be poured on Monday!! "Shut the front door!" I know, right? So it was more of a post breaking ground meeting! Anyways I'm so excited if it was so muddy out I would have danced around in that hole and made my husband take a video of me doing the douggie or some kind of dance down there! Thank goodness for him and the rest of the world it was muddy because I am an embarrassing dancer! I still can't believe all of the happened without our loan approval! I'm still nervous about that! But hopefully come Tuesday when we get our taxes done my fears will subside. I also stoked that we are getting beaded siding and 3 dimensional shingles! The siding is sooooo much nicer than the traditional kind they have been using and the first phase didn't get it and I guess those homeowners are kind of jealous! I know my parents are, they build over a year ago and wished they had the options we are getting! Anyways.... Here is a picture of my hole!! Oh gosh, that sounds so dirty!!! And technically it is dirty! Lol ok I'm going to stop at that! :)

    1. Yeah that's how our lot was when we were walking it before they broke ground I was walking on the gravel but it was still so muddy my poor boot and car mats! Looks like I will be doing some cleaning this weekend!

  2. When we were going through the initial stages they wouldn't even stake our lot before our loan approval went through. I'm not sure if things have changed or if it's just a regional thing, but lately I've seen a few people that were able to start building prior to getting their loan approval. It's nice that you can get started a little faster than some of us did.

    1. I found it kind of odd but they do have all of our income information we are just in a weird situation with my husbands businesses because he is self employees we just need this years tax returns to really make everything solid, so I think it is more of a formality for the underwriting process, but it could just be our local NVR office, so far things have been smooth so crossing my fingers everything continues to go well!

  3. I am so happy to find your blog. We are building in the same community! We had our pre-con meeting on 2/4 so only a couple weeks ahead of you.

Sorry to post anonymously but I don't have a blog of my own :-(. Hopefully, we will meet each other one day, I know our SR likes to have functions to bring the community together.

    1. Oh wow! How exciting! Please let me know if you hve any tips or if there's anything ican help you with along the way, the blog community is so wonderf so many helpful tips and advice it really is like a little family! I'm sure you will see me stalking our lot over the next couple months! I love our neighborhood the views are spectacular! And it's so close to the city with the lowest taxes in any new community, that was the biggest reason we choose to build here, and Bev was so honest with us and really thorough and caring, I can't wait to see the progress! Happy building DB!

    2. Thanks and same to you! We are building a Florence. We have the same PM! I only know because I talked to him earlier in the week and he sounded horrible.

It's really ironic too because I stopped by the plan today and was going to say Hello to Bev, but I saw her and the PMs car so I thought they may be in a meeting and didn't go in. It had to be you!

      Bev is wonderful! Love her!

Bev have us another bag of Chocolate houses today she is the sweetest person ever! I'm so glad we are working with her, she actually worked in the community I grew up in that was built in the 70's! She really knows he stuff!

  4. How exciting! I hate the mud. I keep another pair of shoes in the car so that I can change shoes when I visit. Also keep a plastic bag to put the muddy shoes in.

    1. The things we learn as we go :) My SR and PM advised me to do the same but good thinking on the bag! I needed a good excuse to buy a pair of wellies :) I hope I can find a pair on sale! I think I'm going to go take a look today after work and head over to the site and begin stalking our hole :)
