Closing date set!

I'm so excited that we scheduled our closing!  June 3rd @ 10am!!!  I'm so excited, I don't think I will be able to sleep the night before, it reminds me of how excited I was as a little girl the night before our family would go to Kennywood (I was more excited for Kennywood than for Christmas!)

I finally got to update my countdown too :)  It's so crazy to think that in less than a month, we will have a whole new house, new neighbors, friends, a place to call home... to raise a family in, and to spend my life with my loving husband!  I'm so over joyed and I feel so blessed to be able to do this at this point in our lives.

Oh, and I was locked out of the house last night!  I really wanted to see the tile work too!  I'm going to go after work today and ask my SR to let me in :)  I don't know if we are officially locked out or if the door just accidentally got locked! But I'm super excited to get the pics up of the master bathroom, I really hope my selection I made look good!  Hopefully I will have pics up this evening... stay tuned!

  1. Rachael-I saw your last comment about NVR, but it wouldn't let me read the whole comment.

    Congrats!!

Did you email anyone specific for a GFE with Dollar Bank? If so, could you share their email address? I want to price everything out with a few Pittsburgh banks. Our community only offered a $5K incentive to finance with NVR so we are in a good place to shop around.

    Thanks!

    1. I just did it on the website, nothing official, BUT I read it all wrong and it will be a MUCH higher monthly payment with the additional MI, we signed out rate lock agreement with NVR, we would loose about 14k of incentives if we went with another bank :( The only thing I found that was more on the GFE of NVR was the origination fee... I wish I would have shopped around earlier but honestly, I still think we are getting a great deal when everything is all said and done. Good luck on the rate shopping!

    2. Amanda try Union Savings Bank if there are any in Pittsburgh. We are currently going through this with NVR. We actually already gave them our good faith estimate. If you add up closing you basically are paying back the incentive. Union Savings is paying the majority of our closing costs along with applying our down payment we paid towards the mortgage loan amount. And we can lock at 70 days no penalty. We locked at 3.375 and a 1.7 return. NVR cannot compare. Look up the mortgage term "steering" you cannot legally offer an incentive and take it away if there are rates less than what they are offering. If they cannot meet the GFE from another lender you are still due the incentive. Our mortgage lender helped us with this. Feel free to follow my blog about this! Sperkins0306.blogspot.com

    3. Can I get out of my lock with NVR if I find another lender that offers a significantly lower GFE??

  6. Kennywood triggers lots of memories. Congratulations on your closing date. That is so close to our original closing date when we started talking with RH. We signed up a month later, but that delayed our closing by 3 months. Best of luck..
